Government e-service centres are operated by the TN e-Governance Agency Directorate through TN Government Cable TV Company is well known to us. These e-seva centres provide as many as 134 services like income certificate, voter ID card, caste certificate etc. Work is going on to include some more additional services at these e-seva centres now. Just recently, money transactions using Aadhaar cards were introduced at the e-seva centres. This was mentioned by the officials of TN e-governance agency. Information collected is that at present work is going on to link 42 new services of the unorganised workers welfare board that functions under the Department of Labour Welfare and Skills Development. The District Collector of Thiruvannamalai has announced that citizens belonging to minority communities can apply for personal and educational loans. The notification released by the Thiruvannamalai District Collector mentioned: “Under the Tamil Nadu Minority Community Economic Development Council, facilities are available to avail personal loans, small industry-related loans for self-help groups, loans for the handicraft artists, and educational loans are offered. To avail of the personal loan under the personal loan scheme, the annual income MUST not exceed Rs. 120000/- for urban areas and Rs. 98000/- in rural areas. To avail of the loan facility for small industries, the annual family income MUST not be above Rs. 800000/-. Personal loans are offered at the annual interest rate of 6% for a maximum loan amount of Rs. 20 Lakhs. Under the Small industries loan scheme, a maximum loan amount of Rs. 30 Lakhs is offered. A maximum loan of Rs. 10 Lakhs is offered for handicraft artists. For self-help groups, a maximum loan of Rs. 1 Lakh per person is offered at an annual interest rate of 7%. For the students belonging to the minority communities, studying graduate & postgraduate technology courses under the government-approved educational institutions, a maximum personal loan of Rs. 20 Lakhs is offered. Under the small-scale industry scheme, a maximum loan of Rs. 30 Lakhs is offered for the students. While applying for education loan, copies of the Original Transfer Certificate, Receipt for payment of the academic fees, or challan, and the marks certificate MUST be submitted.”

A new set of regulations have been introduced in the written examinations conducted by the Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission (TNPSC) for the recruitment of various vacant posts in the different departments/industries of the Tamil Nadu State Government. As per this new rules & examination in Tamil has been made mandatory. The candidates MUST score a minimum of 40 marks. Further, TNPSC has informed that the applications for writing the examinations MUST BE MADE THROUGH PAN NUMBER ONLY (Permanent Account Number – Income Tax). The timings for the examinations are also changed. Examinations, which used to commence at 10.00 AM, will now commence at 9.30 AM. As such, the Group-2A examination will be conducted from 9.30 AM to 12.30 PM.

The citizens who avail of housing loans to buy plots/houses will be under the condition to complete the registration before March! Even the entrepreneurs who are interested in getting loans for starting their business will also be under the same constraint of receiving the loan before the end of March. However, in some registrar offices, a larger number of registrations have been completed during all the week working days. As such, it has been announced that all the Registrar offices will function on all Saturdays in March to facilitate the extra demand for registrations. An important note: As per the Tamil Nadu State Government Registration Act and regulations, based on emergency work on holidays, an additional charge of Rs. 200/– will be collected on these Saturdays. The Tamil Nadu State Government Minister for Commercial Tax and Registration, P. Murthy, has appealed to the citizens to avail of this opportunity to the maximum extent.
